EllieCreation's Day Out At #48HoursOfFashion !

Hello my lovelies! What an amazing time I had over in Nottingham for the #48hoursoffashion weekend; I had heard so much about this up to the big day and I knew for sure that I wanted to go and have a look at the catwalk shows and special events stores were holding, from free consultations to discounts!

My mum kindly came along with me, bless her! So we made a girly day out of it all. Even though she isn't overly fond of fashion like myself, she really did enjoy it especially the catwalk shows.

As it was the Friday, Events and shows started from 12pm we arrived just after and made our way first to the flying horse walk. Stick & Ribbon were holding a style hunter competition and I thought, why not! So i was asked to pose standing on their red carpet and had my photo taken which is now over on their Facebook page! They're looking for the most stylish women in Nottingham with prizes to be won, If you'd like to vote for me or you like my outfit I'd appreciate every thumbs up I receive! If you see this picture then thumbs up!

Little me posing for Stick & Ribbon's Style Hunter! To vote for me go to their facebook http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=446768148744348&set=a.446767932077703.1073741832.426206684133828&type=3&theater

------------------------------------------------------

Next we had a little visit to Khiel's it was both myself and my mum's first time there and they gladly allowed me to take photos of their fantastic store and displays!

-----------------------------------------------

Then after we went for some lunch and a glass of wine we went over to where the catwalk shows and master classes we're being held. We attended both the show 4 and 6. Of course I had to get pictures of the stunning fashion that was displayed and the wonderful dancers/models that made it a show to remember!

---------------------------------------------------

Did you go? And if you did what was your favourite part of the day? Personally I loved the catwalk shows and seeing the new styles and trends! Big thank you for those who worked hard behind the scenes to put this marvellous weekend together! Can't wait for the next one!

P.S. If you've voted for me on the Facebook outfit competition let me know in the comments below so I can give you a Twitter shout out!

*NEW* Feature Friday - Tizzalicious 26th of April

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Tizzalicious

Happy Friday to you all! Today's Feature Friday is the awesome Tizzalicious who sells all things handmade, from jewellery to home wear! Rockabilly to kawaii cuteness is definitely on the list. The website is ever so welcoming, very well laid out and easy to navigate allowing you to shop by using different categories!

You can also receive free shipping when you spend at least £22.50; Perfect for when you would like to treat yourself or for someone else!

I was more than pleased to feature Tizzalicious here on UniqueLoveStyle, read on for our interview!

--------------------------------------------------

Interview with Maartje l Owner of Tizzalicious

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
I am on disability because I suffer from chronic migraines. I didn't want to depend on that for the rest of my life, and as I have always been making things for myself, I decided to start making them for other people and sell them. What's better than making a living with something you love to do?

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the feeling I get when someone buys something that I made. That people like what I come up with and create.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
I always feel very proud when I am mentioned in the press. I was featured in a few Belgian and Dutch magazines, and even a newspaper from South Africa!

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
I hope that in a few years, I will be able to ditch my disability, and earn enough with my shop to make a living. I always dream of having my own little brick & mortar shop too, but that will probably stay just a dream a little longer.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
Do what you love! If you want to make a living creating things, you have to make sure you love what you too. If you make things you don't love, you might as well work in a factory!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
This is a hard one! But I think at the moment it would have to be the photoshop necklace I designed together with my friend Marjolein:http://tizzalicious.com/en/photoshop-icons-necklace-colors.html

-------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------

My favourite pieces have to be the food themed jewellery! Kawaii and Rockabilly are my key styles though, which they have plenty of variety in. This is for sure another fun and unique company that I hope you check out, if you do let me know what your favourite items are in the comments section, I'd love to know!

Thank you ever so much for your participation Tizzalicious!
Your indeed an inspiration to me.

Please feel free to check out their social networking links! -

EllieCreation's ChiChi Wish-List

Exciting post today darlings! If you've remembered before I entered the #passionforfashion2 competition to create 3 outfits of my choice all under £200 each. I spotted this new competition and as I'm working my way into introducing more fun fashion posts on UniqueLoveStyle, I thought this would be a great opportunity to give it a go!

We've been asked to create our own wish-list of the beautiful pieces we like the most on http://www.chichiclothing.com/
I have to say I was in my element on their website! I'm very much a dress/skirt type of girl and whether it's a family meal out or a special occasion a cute dress is always something I go for.

Here are my top picks of course it took me some time because there was so much to look at, styles, colours and lengths!

1 - The cute Chi Chi Daria Dress is a skater dress design but for that added girlyness the top half is lace; this is such a flattering dress and can be worn for both daytime or evening wear. The back is beautifully cut out and fastened with a lace bow towards the neck. So soft and flattering this for sure had to be on my wishlist! You can view it in much more detail here - http://www.chichiclothing.com/products/Chi-Chi-Daria-Dress.html

2 - The stylish Chi Chi Maya Dress is my next choice, simply because it's a very fitted bodycon evening dress with stunning diamanté detailing upon the bodice. This is in a soft pearl shade that really compliments the overall detailing, appearing classic with not too much going on. Subtle but still with an add of glamour. Details on this dress can be found here -

3 - The precious Chi Chi Gala Dress may have to be one of my most favourite dresses, It has everything that I love, from the lace top half in black to the floaty powder pink lower part it just holds perfectly. Very fun and feminine and in a flattering shape it will be just wonderful for an evening event, I can just imagine the soft movements of the skirt when dancing the night away! Details on this dress can be found here -

4 - The darling Chi Chi Modesta Dress is the last selection on my wish-list. At first from seeing the picture I thought this was such a princess delicate style, really perfect for a prom or formal event. The top part that's a beautiful heart shaped neck line is in fine lace which is quite a grey/silver tone, overlaying the white dress itself that makes it a stunning contrast. For more information regarding this dress visit here -

------------------------------------------------------

I hope that my wish-list has inspired you for maybe your own prom dress or special event that's coming up soon? Which one would you say is your favourite? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

For your chance to win £200 to spend at ChiChi London information can be found on the lovely EtailPR blog http://etailpr.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/exclusive-blogger-competition-win-200.html

*NEW* Feature Friday - MinkyShop 19th of April

New Feature Friday!
Featuring MinkyShop

Happy Friday everyone! This week's Feature is the most adorable, MinkyShop! They sell the amazing Lolita and Cosplay Japanese wear. Looking on their website I feel in my element, everything is so unique and cute and Minky is such a lovely person too.

Minky is a part-time student and model for much of the stock, Minky founded MinkyShop in 2004 as an ebay store. She followed her passion for fashion and helped open up a gateway for Japanese and Asian fashion clothing and footwear. Today, MinkyShop offer more variety, great prices and a friendly service that's in touch with the scene. Finding stock for followers of gorgeous eastern fashion is important, but they like to add a little extra fun with diverse and different products of the culture. As such, MinkyShop has had everything from Lolita dresses and footwear to Cosplay, Tabi Socks, Japanese video games and Hello Kitty car seat covers on their virtual shelves!

I completely adore the website's layout, the images are perfect and very well described for their customers. If your also unsure about the sizes on certain items they include size guides which is extra helpful!

--------------------------------------------------

Interview with Minky l Owner of MinkyShop

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?

Ooh, fashion. Like all good Asian girls I studied business before fashion, which helped with setting up an online store. I love fashion and style, everything about the scene inspires me. Sometimes it only takes one image or glimpsing a pair of shoes to suddenly make me think about redesigning my entire wardrobe. I like the flexibility of fashion too: it's easy to go wrong if you don't think about your personality when you're buying clothes, but if you're sensible then experimenting with new styles is loads of fun.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?

My MinkyShoppers! Honestly, I have a really, really lovely community of buyers. I always communicate with honesty and transparency, and find that people warm to that and are really sweet and often contact me just to chat. I don't think business is about automated emails, it's important to be a real person.
They also respect that I'm only one girl and there's a lot of pressure involved, and I thank them from the bottom of my heart for understanding that sometimes I'm just very busy.
Of course it's not all plain sailing: I have a lot of very young buyers who aren't too trustworthy of the internet and end up snapping at me impatiently if I don't respond quickly enough. Guys who don't read the listing info or FAQ, or let all my email go into their spam filter make life really hard lol!

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?

Opening the MinkyShop website! eBay selling was a nightmare, they made it almost impossible for me to carry on there so I had no choice but to leave. I walked into the scary unknown, spending seven months working non-stop to try to get a site together (with no experience).
Thankfully my help was very good and on launch (nearly!) everything worked. It took almost a year to iron out the little hiccups, but not too many people noticed those thankfully. I love my store, I think it's the absolutely cutest website ever, exactly how I imagined it to be! ^_^

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?

Not sure really. MinkyShop can be very hard to run for me. I'm multi-lingual, which is the only reason I can maintain the operation, but all the east to west communication and trying to buy in new batches of stock can be challenging, especially at the rate Asian fashion is sells out at wholesale: it's all in high demand and stuff disappears right your nose a lot. I'd like to expand if I can and actually hire some staff. We'll see.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?

Passion and vision: there's no success without those two things, and that applies to anything you choose to do I think.

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
Probably the Purelove Sweater, I got a white one for myself and I love it. Too cool! The black sold out almost instantly, I'm hoping to get a restock soon.

------------------------------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------

MinkyShop currently have a sale on so you should head on over and see what bargains you can pick up, I know I will!

Which item or style would you dare to wear? Do let me know in the comments! Be interesting to see your views on this cute store.

Big thank you to Minky for allowing me to feature her! Means a lot to me!

Nottingham BBlogger Meet-up and Haul!

(Big Thankyou to Sophia aka TattooedTeaLady for allowing me to include this picture from her blog!)

So as a lot of you may have heard, Saturday the 13th of April was the big #NottsBBMeet! I had never been so nervous! A lot of the bloggers were travelling from all over just to be there, luckily I got myself ready in time to get the bus there which only took around an hour. Our meeting point was at the statue lions at 11am where we were all given our name tags which included our blog link's and Twitter names. Over time the group began to build as everyone got there, I was so shy but the lovely Laura from http://laura-k.co.uk/ Arrived and straight away we spoke and had an instant connection! She is such a wonderful person and I'm so pleased to have met her! She did help me spend my money too! Hehe!

So from the meeting at the lions, the groups who were going to the Kiehls visits were notified on their times and from this both myself, Laura, Vanessa and Meimei began our shopping! It was all very surreal for me even at this point, after some time we then met up with everyone again and did a little about me circle, where each of us said who we are and what our blog's were. This was the point that I finally met the awesome Sophia and Jessie I must say it was a proud moment to meet them both.

Throughout the day there were 4 groups who went to the amazing Kiehls store where they had a champagne breakfast, yes I was stood at the window like a puppy swooning over the cupcakes...But it seemed everyone had a great experience and bought some great products that I will be looking out for on their blogs!

We all started to head up towards the Victoria Centre which had shops such as Lush, Boots, House of Fraser, Topshop etc. I then met the sweet Sarah from http://entirely-sarah.blogspot.co.uk/ was such a nice pleasure to meet her and also we didn't realise how local we were to one another! Such a small world huh! We went into Lush where although they had a fault with their lighting they did brilliantly with having all us bloggers coming in at once! So a big thank you to them :D
During the point where we all came outside I was so pleased to finally meet the Pampered Prince! He was such a sweetheart :)
Overall I felt like i'd shopped till i dropped but it was all so worth it! For my first ever meet-up it was the most greatest experience I have ever had; and for this I want to say an extra special thank you to Sophia and the girls for organising the wonderful day, It was a fabulous turn out and was nice to meet the bloggers in person! I shall definitely be attending more meet-ups in the future!

----------------------------------------------------------

Now on to the haul and what I purchased at the Meet-up!

Some of my purchases had been from what I had previously placed on my wishlist, where as others were just what stood out to me on the day!

My first purchases was of course at MAC! I did go in hoping they had some of the Betty Archie's girl's items left but they didn't *sad face* But I didn't leave there empty handed; I purchased the Matte Candy Yum-Yum lipstick as you can tell its a very bold and bright Pink! I've heard so much about this lipstick and because I love wearing bold statement colours I couldn't help but buy it! It's such a beauty!
Also purchased a lustre lipstick in the shade LoveLorn, It's a much softer pink shade with a nice glossy shine which feels very moisturising on the lips and will be a perfect shade for summer and every day looks.

During our visit in John Lewis, I still had some Christmas vouchers which I hadn't used up and thought this would be the perfect time to use them! I came across the mini o.p.i set of the OZ the great and powerful varnishes that I've seen many times and thought it would be perfect as I'm such a lover of nail varnishes and The wizard of OZ! I then rushed over to the Liz Earle stand,  I've only had one product of Liz Earle and because I've enjoyed using it so much, I treated myself to the Cleanse and polish starter set, which was a good price for the cleaner and 2 pure muslin cloths. Looking forward to using it as I've heard and read many good reviews on this product!

Next stop was boots! It's so big at Nottingham and there were a few things on my wishlist that I could have bought, but overall the Nicki Minaj fragrance, Pink Friday was my most lusted after item. I purchased the 50ml which comes fully with the head etc I love the bottle so much and will be great for displaying even after use! Also for buying this size I got a free Pink Friday limited edition bag and of course with it being pink I was too excited and thought it was a fantastic purchase.

Our last visit before heading home was House of Fraser, by this point we were all so tired and feet were aching but I made my last purchase for the last Urban Decay Glinda Palette on display. Most eye-shadow palettes that I have are the basic neutrals so when seeing these shades and knowing how pigmented and fantastic quality Urban Decay always has, I couldn't resist, and of course Laura kept saying 'buy it buy it!' and I did hehe. But this was another product that I have been wanting for so long I was pleased to finally have it!

-------------------------------------------------------

Overall the meet-up was a huge success! I heard also that we were trending too on twitter which is awesome to hear. I've loved meeting new faces and getting to know each other more; lets hope we have more meet-ups in the future! Big thanks again to Sophia and the girls for making this day possible :)
